My angelfish have become my major focus lately. Aside from the Philippine blues from AngelMania, I’ve obtained a few golds and gold marbles. The golds are here in hope of breeding with the blues and (eventually) breeding platinums. (Platinum angels have 2 gold genes and 2 blue genes, so it’s going to take a couple of generations to get that done!) The marbles are just attractively marked. ;D Fortunately for the platinum effort, my first breeding pair is a male…
It’s been quite a while since I’ve posted an update! Lots of things have been happening: comings and goings, fry, new tanks, and so on. This is going to have to be a multi-post update for sure, lol. The angels are all doing quite well, even the little gimpy Pinoy, who I’ve dubbed Tiny Tim. :p  He’s still the smallest fish in the tank now, but no longer hangs back by himself. I gave the tank a week course of Melafix. There are definitely people in the hobby who will swear up and down that Melafix and Pimafix don’t work, and are dangerous. Every medication is dangerous, aren’t they? And like all the other fish medications out…
I moved the new angelfish out of the quarantine tank into their new home last night. They seem to be settling in fine, and interestingly, they’re displaying their fins a lot more now that they have more space. The widefins in particular look a lot more impressive, even at their tiny size, with their dorsals raised all the way up.
